"Coloroto Magazine" section from the New York News newspaper of September
28, 1969. The color cover is a great portrait of Joe DiMaggio, one of the
best baseball players ever. Hall of Fame, and much more. The article inside
is entitled "The Greatest Living Ballplayer". Great writeup, and a couple
more photos. Joe was a coach for the Oakland A's at this time. Size

Minoso was 53 yrs old in 1976, got one hit for the Chicago White Sox becoming
the oldest person to hit safely in the major leagues; tried again in 1980
but failed in two at bats, but got (tied for) record for playing in 5 different
decades. And in 1993 took a turn at bat for the Saint Paul Saints (of the
Northern League) to become the oldest proffesional baseball player ever
at just over 70 years old!!! (He grounded out). |
